As Lu Chen’an’s words trailed off, a clenched and grinding voice came from the courtyard: "State Preceptor, so this is your true face!"
The crowd looked over to see Dongli Honglang struggling to rise, his face filled with hatred as he stared at Lu Chen’an.
Clearly, he had heard the conversation.
"So you are here too. That’s good, it saves me the trouble of having to explain when I come to kill you later."
Lu Chen’an sneered, showing utter disdain for Dongli Honglang.
"My father and I trusted you so much, and yet you used us?"
Dongli Honglang clenched his fists, raging with anger.
"You should feel honored to be pawns of the State Preceptor. Once I dominate the world, out of great mercy, you can erect a tombstone."
Lu Chen’an’s tone was utterly contemptuous.
Dongli Honglang could no longer contain himself, he swung his fist and shouted, "I will kill you!"
