Cai Wei replied, "Dear young man, could you pass on a message for me? A Miss Mu would like to meet with your Miss. Here is some silver for your troubles." As she spoke, she handed the boy a piece of silver, roughly weighing about one ounce.
The boy, his face brightening as he accepted the silver, looked around, then whispered, "Miss Mu, our home has recently fallen into troubles. The old master has given an order that no guests are to be received. If you have any urgent matters, you may want to write a letter to our Miss, and I will find a way to deliver it for you!"
A thought struck Cai Wei. What could have happened at the Shen Mansion that required them to close their doors to visitors? Could it be related to Aunt Yan?
Thinking of this, she politely said, "Thank you very much. In that case, I’ll go back and write a letter. Once it’s done, I’ll bring it over. When the time comes, I hope you can take the trouble to deliver it."
"Of course, please don’t hesitate to let me know if you need anything else, Miss Mu." The page was actively courteous.
As soon as she stepped away from the gates of the Shen Mansion, Cai Wei immediately summoned Brother Parrot to go investigate what precisely was happening inside the mansion.
Upon hearing his master’s command, Brother Parrot squawked and flew into the Shen Mansion to investigate.
While waiting, Cai Wei went for a stroll around the street. She planned to find a small restaurant nearby, have breakfast, and incidentally write a letter to Shen Juhua, asking when she would be able to accompany Madam Cui to the manor for the handover process.
