Chapter 34. Illogical Jealousy
"Hey wait? Why are you taking it from her? Did you not ask me to bring an invitation? Here, take it."
Tess, who was both disappointed at being rejected by him and angry for him about Serena, spoke up first as she searched her loose pants pockets, taking out the invitation card.
Then she handed it to him while asking why he was taking it from a woman like Serena.
This woman is not good. It’s best if they not owe each other. After all, she too spends quite some time with Serena. Rickie mostly hangs around this woman.
And because of that Tess picked up the fact that there is something wrong with this woman, though does not know why but she knows Serena is definitely not a normal woman.
"Oh yeah, I did ask you, didn’t I? Thank you for bringing it to me Tess."
Max reacted to Tess’s comment as if he just remembered this as he put his hand on his temple, a habit of his when he forgot something as he reached out to took the invitation letter from her.
"Wait? It is not counted in the promise you owe me right?"
However he halted his hand and did not take it, rather he asked an important thing.
He did not want to waste this unconditional promise over this, when there are already 3 spare invitation letters available.
"...What promise-! Oh of course not, It’s just a favor for a.....special friend."
