Chapter 25. Derailing Thought Train
Max was taken aback by such a sudden outburst of Ashley as he unconsciously took a step back in shock but this action of his fell in her eyes made her just cry out even more intensely.
’What is happening?’
Max was super confused, he was not paying attention to her, as he was still wondering about what type is this new protagonist, and whether or not the plot is sync with others or follow their own timeline hence why he was being humiliated here for build up the ground for revenge.
"Sister, did you lose my invitation? Hey don’t worry about it, I already made other arrangements, I don’t really need your invitation."
Max couldn’t bear to see such a beautiful woman cry-no bawling in front of him, at least not when he was not the reason for her bawling out.
He quickly thought that this clumsy woman had lost his invitation because it was logical, this reaction of hers started when he asked her about his invitation letter.
But this is not that big of a deal, he already expected something like this to happen so he came with backups.
Yeah plural, not only he made arrangements calling that woman but he also messaged Tess on the way here just in case, along with of course Serena.
Others may think he should have not contacted her this early and they may have been right if it was any other normal woman but it has already been clear there is no normal woman in this world.
If he breaks off all connection with that woman quickly then how can he act like a love struck man?
Because if he acts indifferently towards her, cutting off all contact, it is in that woman’s mind would register as he let go of her, and so all her guilt would also go away.
