Chapter 5. No Logic At All
"You- Why?"
Serena looked up at him with utter confusion, She couldn't help but ask why in disbelief.
She can't see any logic in this, Max's company is on the verge of bankruptcy and without millions of capital injection it would fall in just 1 or 2 days.
His family and he are also having issues, So they might not be willing to help him; not to mention, even if they were not fighting, taking out hundreds of Millions is hard for them without causing straining the family relationship.
She was nearly breaking her capital chain by taking 100 Million UC like this. There are just enough funds for a week or two; after that, she too would be in the same boat as Max.
But in her case, she has the support of family behind her plus confidence in her own abilities that would not happen, the courtesy Max does not have.
So didn't him taking her money be the most logical choice? At least that's what she thought and hence why she decided to come here to break up their engagement, giving him money.
"Why? I don't know really, There is no place for logic and reason in love."
Max held her hand firmly as his infatuated eyes were staring at her in endless love and affection as he explained the reason or lack of it to her.
As cold as Serena was, she couldn't handle being stared at with this intensity, She turned her head to avoid making eye contact.
However, her ears perked up hearing his explanation but this just made her even more confused.
