One that he had been running away from for so many years, one that he keeps lying to himself that he had overcomed after evolving, not knowing that he was just silently looking for a way to continue, to continue to move in their paths, to continue to make them want him back, to make Yuji and the others see his worth, even though they weren’t here.

Seeing this, Haruka’s eyes showed a bit of saddness. She regretted what she said Immediately, but still decided to keep a straight face, as she didn’t want Kenji to think that she didn’t mean it.
Yes, she hadn’t meant to say that, she had only meant to make him feel bad and understand why he should never push someone away, even if he wants to protect them. He had the choice of making his own decision, he should give everyone else that choice also.
But mistakenly out of annoyance, she had blurted out those words and had painfully hurt him. But she realized that he needed to hear it. If she hadn’t told it to him, someone else would have, and that would be even more painful.
" I’m so- I think we should start searching for the mine veins, it’s time we hurry up and leave this place, " Haruka said, holding back her original words.
" Yeah, sure, " Kenji said, responding as plainly as ever. With his hands curled into a fist, and his eyes seemingly holding back tears, he immediately turned around and began looking around the walls of the mine, for any sign of a vein that might hold the ores inside.
