Chapter 28: Evolution
Kenji was shocked completely by Shreya's explanation. He couldn't believe that the same Phoenix that had saved him from the clutches of death, was now his system, a glorious entity that would let him strive to the top like the MCs' in Novels.
" Shreya, since you're now technically my system, then how are we going to do this? Am I going to start leveling up from my E rank to S rank, am I going to be able to tame beasts like dragons?! And the best of it all: will I get to the same level as Yuji and the others?!" Kenji said, excitement overflowing through his mind, as he thought of the million possiblities to his new found system.
Seeing Kenji smiling like a fool as he thought through exciting adventures, Shreya smiled mischievously at him.
* If only he knew what I have in stored for him. Maybe I should tell him. Ha! Whatever, I'll let him reel in the dream for a few minutes* Shreya thought silently with a wide grin on her face.
Kenji suddenly stopped his crazy fantasy and suddenly turned serious," so now that i'm no longer an animal tamer, what class am I at now and what rank am I on, even if i'm still on "E" rank, I should still be able to incre-"
" You're still an animal tamer, and your rank isn't increasing anythime soon,"
" What?!" Kenji exclaimed, as Sherya dropped the bombshell of words on his head.
" What do you mean by i'm still an animal tamer. And as if that wasn't bad enough, you say I won't be able to increase my rank ever again? What's the meaning of that?!" Kenji said in both a confused and despairing manner. He felt like his heart had just sunken to the depths of his stomach.
" No! That's not what I mean," Shreya said, her words contradicting her former words.
