Chapter 106: Looting the Territory Lord
Huan Caiyi was aware of his movements as she was keeping her spirit sense open, so the moment she saw him move, she increased her strength to maximum. She created ten flaming spheres of immense size; they were far bigger than her, at least.
The lion squinted its eyes. The moment Jiang Hao appeared near the spirit herb, it sensed him too. It was also keeping an eye on the spirit herb—after all, it was its second life. If something happened to it, then the only option it would have was to run away from this territory.
It was already quite well-known and was recognized in other territories. If they saw it abandoning its own territory, they might not even accept it or might kill it outright for food. This wasn’t a good thing for it—it didn’t want to go to the Dark Forest for living. Resources there were bleak; it might never reach Grade 7.
But even if it could see Jiang Hao, it really couldn’t do anything. The attack Huan Caiyi used was one of her strongest attacks. If it didn’t defend itself, then it would definitely be injured terribly—it could even be killed easily after that.
It was better to take the risk of running away than dying right now. It swung its wings and created a wall of strong winds. The fire spheres reached the wall simultaneously, and each one of them detonated with a deafening sound.
The wind wall wasn’t enough to handle the pressure and dissipated, but it had taken away at least half of the original strength of the flaming spheres. The other half hit the lion, pushing it down to the ground. Its fur was burnt from the impact.
Jiang Hao didn’t pay attention to the lion and moved his hands towards the spirit herb. The moment he touched it, he felt intense danger, and it was coming from above. But since his hands were already on the herb, it didn’t matter. The spirit herb disappeared from the ground and entered his ring while he teleported back to his original location.
After attacking, Huan Caiyi, instead of following up with another attack, moved towards that location. The aftermath of ten fire spheres colliding with the wind wall hadn’t calmed yet, before both of them arrived at the location.
Jiang Hao put his hands on the shoulder of Huan Caiyi, and both of them disappeared from the mountain. When the lion saw that, it shed tears of blood inside because they had taken the spirit herb away.
It came to its senses quickly. It couldn’t wait here for the Territory Lord to come. The sound of collision between their attacks was quite loud; the spirit beasts living on the mountain must have heard it. Everyone knew that this place was where the Territory Lord’s favorite spirit herb was growing.
It was his favorite because its attribute matched with his bloodline. He was waiting for it to grow till the late stage before consuming it. But now that it was gone, it shuddered at the thought. The only thing it could do now was run, so it did so.
