At the wave of a hand, the book on the pedestal was swapped out for another one that was in better condition. Without giving the audience any time to change gears, she went straight into the description of the Qi art.

This time, the reaction from the crowd was much more tame. Much of it had to do with the excitement of the event starting to die out. Another part had to do with the fact that the current offering was more meant for caretakers rather than prestigious cultivators from established clans.
There were fewer parties interested, being the deacons of various organizations and the independent cultivators.
The bidding didn’t start right away as someone in the crowd raised their hands.
