He questioned, amusement dancing in his dark brown eyes before he finally moved back and straightened his posture.
"You know what? I don’t blame you for questioning me. After all, you didn’t know that I’m the president of the company that owns this mall. And that includes this little boutique shop you are working at. So thanks to you, you can also tell your boyfriend that he’s fired."
I watched with satisfaction as their eyes widened to the size of a saucer and they stared at him with their lips left agape. She stumbled a couple of steps back, shock and disbelief written all over her face, just like the rest of them.
"What?" She murmured under her breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "It can’t be..." She muttered in denial as she lowered her gaze and shook her head repeatedly.

He asked as his eyes darted around, as if he was searching for some form of clarity. "Is there something I can help with?"
I watched as Julia’s eyes lit up and recognition flashed past her eyes. Immediately realisation dawned upon me as it clicked inside my head. That must be her boyfriend, also the store manager. She quickly rushed over to his side and wrapped her arms around his arm, looking up at him with a small pout resting on her lips and a pitiful look on her face.
