Chapter 76: Don’t believe her!
His sharp voice pierced through the air as he glared at me with anger swirling in the depths of his eyes. The look on his face was deadly, he looked as though he wanted me dead and buried 6 feet underground.
The cup of coffee he was once holding fell onto the ground with a loud thud, the liquid spilled from the cup, making a huge mess.
Before I knew it, he was marching towards me, closing the distance between us in a few large strides. He stood close to me, his face was now dangerously close to mine and I could see the moment when impulse clouded his judgement as he began shouting.
"What do you think you are doing? Why are you talking to Mr Cole?!" He raised his voice to yell at my face, his hand reaching up to shove me in my shoulder but my feet remained rooted to the ground and I didn’t move a single inch.
"Why can’t I be talking to him?" I challenged, as my eyes glistened with defiance.
Before I could say another word, Sam stepped forward to grab Blake by his shoulders and pulled him back, creating a distance between us.
"Hey, what are you doing man? Step away from her," he commanded, his tone filled with finality and there was this strict look plastered across his face as he tried to ease the situation but to no avail.
Blake clenched his jaws tightly and his fists were balled beside him, even his knuckles were starting to turn white. He turned to face Sam and they locked eyes.
"Mr Cole, don’t believe a word this woman says," he snarled with a disdainful scorn as his voice trembled with rage. He snapped his head to meet my gaze and his eyes were filled with nothing but anger and resentment. The words that left his lips were dripping with accusation and a thick layer of venom that coated each and every single word. "She has something against me and she just wants to ruin my career and reputation!"
