Chapter 73: Bet
Beatrix had no idea when they had both fallen asleep. When she woke up the next day it was already 11 am in the morning.
Rhys apologized for what had happened last night, Beatrix could still see he felt bad for hurting her. She tried to reassure him that she was fine and that she didn’t mind some choking.
Rhys had joked that he didn’t know she was a bad girl and a freak in the bedroom. Beatrix had blushed when she realized what he was saying but most importantly she was happy that he was back to his usual self.
They cuddled and joked around for a while before they got up to bathe.
Rhys suggested that they bathe together but Beatrix denied the offer. She didn’t trust her body not to react to him and she didn’t want to take advantage of him in his weakened state.
After she finished bathing, she came downstairs to find him waiting for her in the kitchen.
The chef he had hired had prepared them food.
They ate in silence with Beatrix stealing glances at him. She had never seen someone making eating pancakes look so captivating.
She could watch him eat the whole day. After they finished eating, they moved to the couch to watch a movie. They were not paying attention to whatever that was on the TV and enjoyed each other’s company and it was nice.
Even though they were just watching TV Beatrix was happy, seeing him so calm and carefree was a pleasure, and she wished he could feel this way all the time instead of being troubled like he was earlier.
"Rhys....? Aren’t we supposed to be working? I thought Damien wanted you to manage one of the companies?"
