Chapter 35: Mastermind
Beatrix stared at the television in a daze as she flipped through channels. When she said she wanted freedom this wasn’t what she had in mind. Damien had left to attend some business meeting after breakfast leaving her alone in the house.
When her father had informed her that she was going to get married she had been livid. But now all she wants to do is to spend time with Damien.
She wanted to know him behind all that mob boss facade. He seems to be a nice guy. It would have been easier to hate him if he was a jerk to her. It was just a matter of time before she fell in love with him that she was sure of.
Beatrix sighed. She really wanted to talk to her father right now. He must be worried-sick about her. Knowing him he must be blaming himself for all of this and here she was crazy about the man who poisoned her father.
The doorbell ring snapping Beatrix from her stupor. She furrowed her brows as fear gnawed at her spine. Damien didn’t tell her anybody would be coming around so who was at the door?
Was someone here to kill her? Oh God! She didn’t want to die this early. She was still a virgin for Christ sake.
Or maybe she was thinking a lot. Maybe it’s the neighbor or Damien had sent the person. Calming herself down, Beatrix made her way to the front door.
She peeped through the door hole and saw the driver who had brought them here standing there holding a paper bag.
"Hello?"
She greeted once she opened the door.
"Hello Miss. Mr. Niarchos gave me instructions to get this for you before he left today,"
