Chapter 496: The Other Woman
I couldn’t help but burst out laughing at Bishop’s statement. I mean, he wasn’t wrong, but clearly he was missing the point.
"You’re right," I agreed, seemingly surprising him with that statement. "But at the same time, you are oh so wrong. Want to know why?"
"If everyone is replaceable, then why aren’t you?" hissed Bishop, trying to raise his head. However, even the fact that he couldn’t was telling.
"Because I’m not just anyone," I snickered, crouching down until I was right in front of him. "I’m the fucking Devil." Coming to my feet, I let out a long sigh as I studied the demon. "I think I have a love/hate relationship with you," I continued. "Just when I think you’ve been redeemed, you go and do something stupid again."
"I hate you," growled Bishop, his eyes flashing as his demon tried to rise. However, the idiot didn’t realize that by calling on his demon, I had already won. "When you turned your back on Sanctuary and refused to help us, I already knew that I wanted nothing more to do with you. You are the one who ruined what we had. Not me."
"What we had?" I sneered, checking my nails. I could tell that Bishop’s comment was pissing off Tank who was hiding in the shadows, but the smart Hellhound knew better than to interfere. "You’re acting like a jilted lover. We never had anything. I was useful to you, so you liked me. The moment I refused to be used, you didn’t. That sounds like a you problem. Now. I highly suggest that you submit before you die."
His face twisting in pain, Bishop’s head dropped forward like the weight of the world was on it.
Such a dramatic man.
"Fine," he snarled through gritted teeth. "I submit."
