"I have a question for you," said Tank softly, wrapping his arm around my shoulders as we watched Bishop walk away.
"Shoot," I replied, wondering if Bishop had the ability to see through with his plan. It was one thing to do it as an angel, but it was a completely different thing to do it as a man. As a man, the dude was prone to death just like the rest of us.
I wondered if he remembered that.
"What were you and that woman talking about?" asked Tank after a moment. "I was too far away to be able to hear the conversation."
I looked up at the hound as he practically wrapped his body around mine. It was almost like he didn’t want to take the chance of anything happening to me.
"I offered her four paths," I shrugged. The second Bishop had disappeared, I turned around and started to walk down the road toward the sanctuary.
"What were they?" murmured Tank, following my lead without actually letting go of me.
"The first was for everything to go on as normal. Nothing would change, but the jungle wouldn’t touch them."
