Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter 358: There’s Always Hattie

As if to emphasize Beau’s point, the once cloudless sky burst open, soaking everyone who was on the deck in rain. The water fell down so hard and fast that it almost seemed to crush some of the humans, sending them down to the ground.

"Fun," sighed Luca, closing his eyes. Cracking his neck from side to side, he looked at Beau. "Can’t you control it?" he demanded, hating the feeling of being wet. It didn’t help that there was so much force coming down that each raindrop felt like a hammer beating against him.

"What? Can’t handle a bit of rain?" smirked a completely dry Beau. However, before any of the other men could reply, he waved his arm and the rain avoided the seven men, falling around them but no longer on them.

The water power user even went as far as to make sure that everyone was nice and dry before they made their way down the steps where everyone else was being punished by the weather.

"I know you wanted water," smiled Dante as he looked over at Colt. The other man was valiantly trying to shield Sadie from the onslaught, but the two of them were still taking a beating. "But don’t you think it’s time to get blow deck? Or are you trying to prove a point?"

At the sound of his voice, Colt looked up at the seven men, acting like gods on the deck of his boat. "If you can shield yourselves from the rain, why don’t you extend the courtesy to everyone else?" demanded the man, even as one harsh drop ripped a chunk of skin from his bare arm.

"Like you said, it’s a courtesy," smiled Beau as the men made their way over to Colt. "Why would I bother to extend it to ungrateful survivors? I mean, so far, the only reason why you are still living is because of my woman."

Colt turned white, but before he could reply, he felt a shifting motion coming from the boat. Looking around, he saw that the flood waters were rising so high that they actually managed to dislodge the ship from where it was stuck between the two mountains.

The wood of the ship creaked in protest, but the second it was freed, Colt, Sadie, and the rest of the humans watched on in awe and fear as the vessel seemed to heal itself. It was like something from a nightmare. One moment, the entire front hull was destroyed by rocks, and the next, it was back and better than ever.
