Chapter 342: You And What Army?
"Two of us are fire-type users," replied Luca, his face impassive as he gave a reasonable explanation as to why they could survive in the cold. It wasn’t like he was lying; between Tank and Désiré, it was possible to keep the ten of them warm.
They just wouldn’t have the power to keep it up for an entire week.
"Fire-type users?" asked the man. He looked almost like beefed out version of Santa. His grey hair was pulled back into a low ponytail, and his beard, while long, was well kept. He was also wearing a red and black plaid flannel shirt and faded out jeans. On his feet were a massive pair of winter boots that went up mid-calf. "What the hell is that?"
Dante blinked, quickly exchanging a look with Luca. "You don’t know?" he asked, his head cocked to the side as he studied the other man. Was he actually ignorant or simply playing ignorant to get the upper hand?
"Would I be asking if I knew?" sneered the man. "I have better things to do with my time than talk to you."
In response, Désiré pushed forward and held out his hand. Under the watchful eye of the Country N man, he created a fireball in his palm. "Dat be a fire-type power," chuckled Désiré as he quickly closed his hand, extinguishing the flame in a single movement.
"They’re mutants!" hissed another male voice coming from the shadows. Unlike the other man, this one decided to stay hidden, but his voice easily gave away his position. "What the fucking hell is going on here? Mutants are nothing more than a movie and shit."
"You seriously don’t have any powers?" asked Luca. Without saying anything, Tank backed away so that he was closest to the exit while the others formed a barrier between him and the residents. Hattie’s safety and security came first.
"If we could light a fire without fuel, do you really think we’d be freezing our tits off like this?" demanded a third voice. This one came from behind them, and Tank let out a low growl even as he hunched down as much as he could.
