Chapter 336: Do Her Justice
Eric couldn’t help but chuckle as he opened the door to the main tower. New Dawn Sanctuary was definitely giving Babylon-esque vibes, without the joys of the hanging garden. Moving to the side, he let ten hounds out of the building before shaking his head.
It had been millennia since he had had this much fun. In fact, now that he had thought about it more, he couldn’t actually remember the last time he was enjoying life so much. And he knew exactly who he needed to thank for that.
Heading straight to the elevator, he ducked his head as a group of ten men and women rushed across the lobby. They smelled like fear, and Eric couldn’t help but breathe it in. It was one of his favorite scents, after all.
Finding everything to be exactly as he expected it to be, he couldn’t help but curse his father in his mind. It had been years; couldn’t the man build a different style building? Everything was the exact same as if the blueprint had never once changed.
It honestly took him longer than he expected to get to where he wanted to go. He kept getting delayed by mutated creatures, giant spiders, and a six-headed zombie before reaching the hidden room.
Looking more like a closet door, Eric couldn’t help but roll his eyes and let out a soft sound of disapproval. The entire world could burn in hellfire, and this room would still stand. Fixing the crooked ’closet’ sign, he turned the handle and let himself in.
"I forgive you," he heard a man mutter. Eric ignored the rest of the world, focusing on what was going on in the first room. The monitor had been turned off, but Eric would put his entire mountain of gold on just what the old man was watching.
Pressing a single key, the entire station lit up.
"Still chasing unattainable dreams?" he called out. God only knew what would happen in that other room if he didn’t interrupt right now.
