Chapter 327: The Ants
The door closed behind us with a resounding ’thud’, and I could hear the electronic lock clicking into place.
"Astounding," muttered Gerald as he locked my chair into the floor. We were all that far from the door, maybe three or four feet, but I was surprised that the chair could be locked here.
You really would think that this whole thing would be a middle of the room type thing.
"I’ve never seen them do that," he muttered, cocking his head to the side. I heard him shuffling behind me, and suddenly, the door opened again. "Bradley, I need the file on the animals. One of you come in as well, I could use your observations from a different angle."
Bradley, whoever he was, must not have been too keen on coming inside the room because I heard Gerald letting out a huff of anger. "They aren’t going to hurt you. For God’s sake. You are a scientist. Bring the file and get your ass in here, or I’ll give you to Jonas to patrol the walls."
As Gerald was trying to work his men, I stared at Tank, wanting to make sure that he was okay. I mean, he was experimented on, even if it wasn’t his body. "You okay?" I asked, looking into Ramsey’s eyes.
When the hound nodded his head, I released some of my tension. "You’re just happy to have a pack again, aren’t you?" I smiled at him.
Getting up, Tank walked over to where I was sitting and placed his head in my lap. I didn’t know if he wanted comfort or if he was offering it to me, but either way...
"Now that I’m here and you aren’t torturing me, can you let me go?" I asked, wiggling my fingers to show what I was talking about.
