Chapter 290: Sign The Bottom
The men around us started to get uneasy as Jonas and I stared each other down. He really didn’t believe that I didn’t have any weapons, and truthfully, it was right. I had a whole section inside Teddy of weapons that I had never touched.
However, I didn’t need a weapon to be deadly; I just needed to make a wish.
Not to mention, I wasn’t kidding about Tank. That man would tear anyone who got too close to me apart.
"Were you aware that your wife’s entire Go Bag is filled with candy?" asked Jonas, blinking slowly and turning to Eric. "I mean, most people don’t have a lot when it comes to food anymore; that is why they come here. But still. No clothes, no weapons, no water, no food. Only candy."
Eric shrugged and gave me a smile. This time, I could see that it easily reached his eyes. He was truly loving the fact that my bag was filled with nothing but lollypops. Narrowing my eyes, I reached in and handed him one.
It was a cheesecake lollypop, so I didn’t mind giving it away... but if he asked for one of the banana ones....
"I know exactly what is in her bag," assured Eric, his eyes never leaving mine as he gently took the lollypop and unwrapped it. "And I am fine with that. People who have tried to take her stuff have been known to die before they could; besides, what use would I be if I couldn’t protect and provide for my wife?"
His words were so earnest that they struck a cord in my chest.
This was what a man was supposed to be like.
Tank nudged my hand, clearly not liking how I was looking at Eric, and I turned my attention back to Jonas.
"I got that candy fair and square," I growled low at him. I was in this fucking place in exchange for the candy. If I was in hell for it, then I was going to make sure that I protected it. "Can you start on the rules now?"
