Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter 189: Responsibility For His Own Actions

"We’ll take that room," I announced, pointing at the door right beside Dante. I had no idea what was behind the mystery door, but there was no way my bed was fitting in this hallway, so I had to try.

Besides, there was no way I was going to be comfortable with everyone around me.

"Oh, Sweetie," sighed Eve. "I don’t think you were listening. The doors don’t open, no matter what we do." As if to prove her point, Eve pressed down on the handle, only for the door to swing open.

"What?" she sputtered, looking down at the handle before looking back up at the open door. "How is that possible?"

One of the fathers who had been watching what we were doing stood up and tried to open the door behind him. It didn’t budge.

"We should get that room," announced the male, turning his attention back to Eve. His eyes narrowed as he tried to suppress the rage inside of him. Looking at him from the corner of my eye, I could see the smallest red dandelion seed inside of his chest, right over his heart.

Yeah, that pretty much cemented it. I wasn’t sleeping out here with even one demon, let alone the possibility of everyone in this building having their very own seed.

"No one is getting any rooms," sighed Eve as she looked at me with disappointment. She was acting like this was all my fault, but if she had simply let me do what I had wanted in the first place, everything would have worked out just fine.

"And why not? Clearly, the doors open. I also know for a fact that you aren’t sleeping in the hallway upstairs, so why should you get special treatment?" The man was now walking toward us, his wife looking around worriedly as she clutched their toddler to her chest.
