Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter 151: She Doesn’t Have A Mother

If the front of the compound looked like something out of a prison, the gates that Delliah led me through led to another world altogether.

The grass on each side of the path was lush; the rich green grass was perfectly cut to the exact length, and there wasn’t a single weed to be seen. Even the path was flawless, everything in its place and not even dirt seemed to want to go against the natural law of this place.

A magnificent building stood tall, easily more than 50 stories high. The white stone that it was made from seemed to glow under the sunlight. The tower was placed in the center of another two buildings that were nowhere near as tall but still impressive in its own right.

"This is the State Legislature Building of Region L," sniffed Delliah, clearly not impressed that I was breaking my neck to take in everything. I mean, I was stuck in a house for my entire life, no thanks to her...

It wasn’t like I saw a lot of the outside world... let alone knew what a State Legislature was.

"My husband was a very important member of Congress when he was 25 and then became the Governor of Region L before the zombies came and ruined everything." The way the woman in front of me was talking made me think that she blamed the zombies for destroying her perfect life.

The poor woman had such a hard life... I really don’t know how she managed to survive it.

Studying my mother, I noticed that even though she was 38 years old, she appeared to be a lot younger. Her luscious blond hair was done up in a knot at the base of her head with enough hairspray that not even this humidity could penetrate it.

She was wearing a navy blue pencil skirt with a beige silk blouse and a navy blue jacket over top. Even walking in those high heels, she maintained her perfect posture. "You’ve really upgraded from the trailer I remember," I chuckled.
