Chapter 137: Me And My Brothers
Chang Xuefeng watched as the "human" led his charge out of the room, a hand on the small of her back. He was contemplating ripping the offending appendage off, but he would have to come up with a better excuse than ’he touched you’. Especially since that ’human’ was his brother.
At least Chang Xuefeng knew that his brother would protect Hattie. That gave him some peace of mind...
But only some. The way his brother stared at her was a completely separate matter and one that he would have to nip in the bud quickly.
Once the door was firmly closed, he rolled his shoulders back and cracked his neck from side to side to loosen up the tense muscles. With a snap of his fingers, a chair appeared in the room, right across from the one that Liu Haoyu was sitting in.
Settling himself in a chair that he hadn’t sat in in age, Chang Xuefeng smiled at the old man. "Aren’t you tired?" he asked, cocking his head to the side. "Because even if you aren’t, I am."
"I haven’t found a new body," shrugged Liu Haoyu like it wasn’t that big of a deal. "My grandson was supposed to be my newest meat sack, but then he up and left."
"You poor demon," chuckled Chang Xuefeng, his back straight as he started drumming his fingers on the armrest of his chair. It was a pure white, wingback chair with wooden feet, but while it was one of his favorite ones, it would only fit his current body. "Should I offer condolences?"
"Probably," chuckled Lui Haoyu. "I don’t know how he managed to do it, but the human I claimed as my idiot son managed to sire the meat sacks for both Death and Disease. I have no idea how that happened, but here we are."
"A body so close to death and nowhere to go from here," smirked Chang Xuefeng. "You are really in a humdinger of a pickle, now aren’t you, Wrath?"
