Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter 80: Sleep Walking

Have you ever had one of those dreams where you knew that you were dreaming?

I could feel Tank’s hand as he gripped my own as I slept in his bed. He chose to kneel on the floor beside the bed, close enough to guard me, but not in the same bed. But what was the most strange was what I was dreaming about.

I walked through the hallways of the Dragon’s Lair, able to see everything perfectly. I could tell who slept behind what door and what they were dreaming of. Slipping effortlessly through the closed door, I could see their dreams, their deepest desires.

And I granted wish after wish from people who never even knew about it. With every step I took, I could feel my strength growing, and in turn, I strengthened the Sins.

Making my way up to the top floor, I entered the last bedroom, only to be sucked into a nightmare.

The sounds of anguished screams reached my ears before my vision settled enough that I was able to see what was going on.

I seemed to be in the basement of an abandoned structure of some kind. The fires coming from random barrels were the only source of light as the screams got louder and louder.

There was soft feminine laughter coming from the center of the room while the rhythmic sound of a whip slashing through flesh became more and more pronounced.

Turning my head, I studied the woman, sitting in a plain wooden chair, her legs crossed, one over the other as she stared forward. Her hands were folded demurely on her knees, the epitome of elegance, as she watched the scene in front of her.
