Chapter 70: Last Words?
Feeling like he was selling his soul to the Devil, Dante took in a deep breath as more and more killer clowns pushed through the entranceway of the lounge where he and the rest of his men waited for their deaths.
’You want to know my wish?’ he asked inside his head. If he was going to deal with the King of Hell, then he might as well get everything he wanted out of the deal. ’I wish to be the most powerful man in the world. I want the strength so that I can protect my people from anything that threatens us. I want enough food that no one under me ever goes hungry. I want the world in the palm of my hand. That is what I wish for. Give me that, and I’ll gladly protect the creature you call an angel.’
Feeling like he was finally within touching distance to get everything he wanted in his first life, Dante couldn’t hold back the smile on his face.
Babysitting a freak would be worth the sale of his soul. Besides, it wasn’t like hell hadn’t spat him back out before. The Devil probably didn’t want him in his domain.
The image of the girl’s torn face with all too seeing eyes appeared in his mind as if conjured by his thoughts. Truthfully, he felt a pull to her, so maybe this was the perfect excuse to unravel the mystery of the woman.
Then, he could get her out of his system.
Expecting to have everything granted to him at that moment, he was unprepared for Pride to burst out laughing at his wish.
"You might as well wish to be abducted by aliens. You’d stand a better chance at that than getting your wish," chuckled Pride, not even bothering to hold back his contempt.
’Oh? I thought the Devil was all-knowing and all-seeing,’ sneered Dante. ’I guess you aren’t everything that your reputation is cracked up to being.’
