Chapter 66: It’s Going To Be You
Mathis looked between me and Dante for a second before making up his mind. Going to stand in front of the other man, he faced off against Tank.
"She tried to kill the Boss," growled Mathis, not realizing that this was not the fucking time to be pulling this shit.
"If I wanted to kill him, he’d be dead," I sneered, placing my hand on Tank’s back. Feeling the rough texture of the coat under the palm of my hand, I leaned forward until my forehead rested on his broad back.
"We need to get inside," I finally continued, collecting myself. "If you trust me, I’ll make sure that you get out of this alive. But I make no promises about anyone else."

"You tried to kill the Boss," grunted Mathis again, holding his arm out to the side as if he were Dante’s shield. "It’s lucky you missed."
"Trying is just as bad," growled Dante, glaring at me from over Mathis’ shoulder. "And I don’t give second chances."
Suddenly, all the guns that were pointing down at the ground were now aimed at my head... and, as an extension, Tank’s.
