Chapter 44: The Savior Of Mankind
Continuing to use Elizabeth’s sight as my own, I couldn’t help but smile as our small party of twelve continued to walk up the long driveway.
Gators chirped on either side of the paved surface, reminding us of their presence, but even that wasn’t enough to discourage the happiness of the people around me.
Jennifer was practically bouncing with every step as she followed behind Elizabeth, while some of the other girls whispered amongst themselves.
Even the men, Isaac, Jeremiah, and the third guy couldn’t contain their excitement as they started walking faster now that the front door was in view.
In fact, the only one who didn’t seem to be as excited as everyone else was Elizabeth.
"Are you okay?" I asked in concern, turning to look at the woman. Of course, I wasn’t able to see her, but she was practically vibrating, and I didn’t think it was with delight.
"Something is off here," she whispered back, so low I almost missed it.
Huh, kudos to her for being the smart one.
"But look, it’s the thing of Jennifer’s dreams. I might not be able to see her, but not even I can miss the smile on her face," I chuckled, not worried about the men in front of us. They were so preoccupied with what was in front of them that they didn’t care about what was behind them.
