Chapter 20: Facing the Silver Wolf King
Ethan finally had his first friend since entering Oracle. Looking at his nearly empty friend list, with just one name: Snow (Lv 8), he chuckled. "Cute name."
Glancing at the beautiful woman in front of him, Ethan wasted no time. "Alright, Miss Snow, we're friends now. I've got some business to take care of, so I won't stay to chat. Bye!" With that, he turned and headed for the village gate without looking back.
"Hey, wait!" Sophia called after him, but Ethan was already far away. "Is this guy made of steel or something?" she muttered to herself. Growing up, every man who saw her face couldn't help but hover around her, yet Ethan acted as though he couldn't wait to leave. For the first time, she started to doubt her charm.
Opening her friend list, Sophia sent Ethan a private message:
Snow: "You're already level 10. Why haven't you gone to the main city to change your class?"
Ten minutes later, she finally received a reply:
Sealed: "You think I don't want to? I can't!"
Snow: "Why not?"
But that was the end of the conversation. Sophia grew even more curious, but Ethan didn't reply. After waiting for a long time without a response, she stomped her foot in anger. Then, determined to focus on her own progress, she headed toward the village gate to continue leveling up.
Meanwhile, Ethan had no time for idle chat because he was already fighting the Silver Wolf King.
His usual strategy was simple: hit and run. After striking the boss once, he would kite it around while staying out of range. With [Instant Recovery Potions] in hand, the fight, though intense, didn't threaten his life. He maintained full health by alternating between [Medium Health Potions] and [Large Health Potions] as needed. If he took a regular attack and saw the boss preparing its [Ferocious Howl], he would instantly use an [Instant Recovery Potion], as the two-second wind-up for the skill gave him just enough time to react.
