Alan stood at the shoreline, foot digging into the black sand, feeling helpless and stuck.
The island was a dead shell, not the trial... Like really, what was here? Nothing at all.

Now, his eyes locked onto the endless sea before him, like any regular sea it was also still, quiet, and blue.
The air hung heavy with salt and old blood.
He stepped forward believing something must be in the water, after all, any intelligent being could deduce it.
The water lapped at his ankles, warm, almost thick like at high homo-solution.
He narrowed his eyes, watching the waves closely.
"...So this is it," Alan muttered.
"You’re not hiding up here,"
Without hesitation, he dived into the sea.
