Aurora glanced at the moonlight outside and fell into thought. "I don’t know who tied me up there... but I had asked Dominic to keep an eye on Autumn. I never expected... something like this to happen."
She spoke softly, uncertain about Dominic’s situation.
Everett shot her a sideways glance. "A woman as foolish as you is easy to deceive."
"You... Everett! I’m stupid, which is why I—" Aurora burst out in anger but couldn’t finish her sentence.

Everett smirked. "Exactly. You’re stupid, which is why I was able to sleep with you. Aurora, do you regret it? So don’t even think about thanking me this time."
Aurora took a deep breath and remained silent, afraid of provoking him again and ending up in another compromising situation.
