Chapter 45. Council meeting
The Student Council Chamber at Obsidian Academy was a place of power, located at the highest point of the school. The ceiling was tall, painted with stars that glowed softly under magical chandeliers.
A large round table made of dark oak stood in the center, its shiny surface reflecting the faces of the academy’s top students—thirteen of the most important people in the school.
Prince Cassian, the Vice President, sat with an annoyed look. His voice was sharp. "Why are we waiting? Do we really have to hold up the whole council for someone who doesn’t belong here?"
The Iron Leader, a big, tough-looking guy, leaned back. "The Bronze Leader isn’t here yet."
Darius laughed, his grin full of arrogance. "Bronze Leader?" he sneered. "What a joke. The Bronze section is useless. Letting him sit with us is just charity."
The Silver Leader, an icy blue-haired girl with curves, spoke next. Her voice was smooth and alluring. "I don’t agree, Darius. Anyone who can outsmart the entire academy and gambling business like he did is worth paying attention to." Her assistant, a short girl, chuckled softly.
Darius rolled his eyes. "He’s nothing special. Just a weakling trying to act important."
The elf exchange student smirked, green eyes shining. "Really? Then why did that same weakling scare you with just a flash of his aura?"
Adrian Dranemount, who’s here as Princess Thalia’s assistant, chuckled. "I’d have liked to see that."
Darius’s face turned red. "Watch your mouth, Stigrum," he growled.
Princess Thalia raised a hand. The room fell silent. "Adrian, that’s enough," she said calmly. Adrian nodded, his smirk lingering.
