Chapter 142: Calming Down Aeri ll
The music from the party downstairs pulsed faintly through the walls, a low hum that set the mood in the dim upstairs hallway. I had Aeri pressed gently against the wall, her back against the cool plaster, her breath hitching as I leaned in. Our lips met, soft at first, then harder, crashing together like we’d been starving for this. The faint scent of her lavender perfume mixed with the warmth of her skin, pulling me in deeper.
Her eyes widened for a split second, like she was surprised I’d been so bold. But then she saw my face—my eyes closed, lost in the moment, completely hers.
Her expression softened, and her eyelids fluttered shut. She kissed me back, her lips moving with mine, slow and deliberate, like she was savoring every second. Her hands slid up, warm and soft, cupping my cheeks as she pulled me closer, her fingers brushing the my jaw.
It had been days since we’d last seen each other. She’d been staying at Sara’s place and I’d been stuck missing her. The distance had gnawed at me, leaving me restless, counting down the hours until I could see her again.
"Ezra," she murmured, breaking the kiss, her voice soft but shaky. Her dark eyes locked onto mine, searching. "We shouldn’t do this here."
I grinned, leaning in to brush my lips against the curve of her neck, feeling her pulse quicken under my touch. "It’s fine," I said, my voice low, teasing. "No one’s here in this corner. They’re all too busy with the groom."
She let out a small laugh, her head tilting back as I kissed her neck again, lingering this time. "You’re impossible," she whispered, but there was no real fight in her words. Her hands stayed on my face, holding me close, like she didn’t want me to stop.
"God, Aeri, I missed you so much," I said, my lips grazing her skin as I spoke, the way her body relaxed against mine despite her protests. "You have no idea."
She opened her eyes, looking at me with a mix of affection and worry. "You dummy," she said, her voice soft but firm. "You know my friends are here as well. They know we’re...stepmom and stepson." Her cheeks flushed a little, and her eyes fluttered shut again as I kissed the sensitive spot on her cleavage.
