Wanru didn’t say a word and lazily took the wine glass with a curve of her red lips, raising her glass slightly to Chenxi before bringing it to her lips. She sniffed the wine slightly, frowned, and then gave Chenxi a firm look.
Momo noticed Wanru taking the wine glass and then took another from Chenxi’s hand.
Chenxi himself picked up another glass of wine from the table, raised it to Wanru and Momo’s glasses, and gently clinked them together. "To you!" he said.
After speaking, Chenxi raised his hand and downed the drink in one gulp.
Wanru also slightly raised her wine glass and poured the wine into her mouth in one go. Just as Momo was about to sip her drink, Wanru’s actions in placing her glass down were a bit exaggerated and accidentally hit Momo’s arm. The force was so strong that Momo’s hand shook and she couldn’t hold the wine glass steady, dropping it to the ground where it shattered.
Wanru gestured slightly with her hand, indicating it was not intentional, and quickly picked up a new glass of wine and handed it to Momo, signaling her to drink it.
Momo took it, raised it towards Chenxi, and drank it down.
Chenxi’s gaze flickered slightly but he didn’t speak; he just smiled and sat back next to Niange, presenting himself obediently.
Wanru stood up, gestured towards the door, and walked out.
At the party, one of ES’s senior staff toasted to Momo, and she smiled and drank.
Wanru soon returned, still with a smile on her face, and sat beside Momo, continuously watching Chenxi, occasionally raising her glass to her, signaling her to drink.
