Chapter 234: Song of the Betrayed (14)
The car moved and soon stopped.
When I got out of the car, I could see the gate in the distance.
I followed the commander and entered a building. As soon as I went inside, the strong smell of disinfectant filled the air.
It’s a hospital.
There were no typical signs of a hospital at the entrance, nor was there a reception area visible. All I could see were people rushing around busily, with only the strong disinfectant smell hanging in the air.
As soon as I entered, a soldier approached from the side, stopped when he saw the commander, and saluted. After the commander acknowledged the salute, they stepped back.
Then, the commander led me inside.
As I entered, mixed with the disinfectant smell, there was a strange, fishy odor.
I quickly realized where the smell was coming from.
There were several beds, and on them lay soldiers with holes in their bodies. From the holes, dark blue fluid slowly leaked out, and what appeared to be doctors, wearing protective suits, were cutting away at the wound areas.
“These soldiers have been cursed by something from the sea and are dying. Even healing magic doesn’t work properly. Even if we completely sever the wounded areas and regenerate them, they still regenerate in an infected state. Can you save them?”
A curse.
