Song Xiaoru never brought up yesterday’s incident again, nor did she mention anything about Miao Xuanxuan and the others. She just quietly stayed by Song Xiaodong’s side until evening.
"Dongzi, it’s late. Time to sleep," Song Xiaoru whispered to Song Xiaodong after ten o’clock.
Song Xiaodong nodded and was about to hug Song Xiaoru.
"No need, I’m not feeling bad anymore," Song Xiaoru said with a faint smile, standing up on her own.
"Then I’m still going to carry you upstairs," Song Xiaodong said with a bright smile, and then picked up Song Xiaoru.
Song Xiaoru didn’t struggle, her arms wrapped around Song Xiaodong’s neck, her head nestled under his shoulder and neck.
Once inside Song Xiaoru’s room, she said, "Alright, I need to take a bath, and you should go to sleep early."

In the bathroom, steam filled the air as they both soaked in the bathtub, heads just above the water. Song Xiaoru softly said, "I remember when I was about five or six years old, and you were only three or four, we once took a bath together in a big basin at home."
