Song Xiaodong and Miao Xuanxuan didn’t eat much when they were out for dinner with classmates. They first found a snack street and casually ate something. While eating, they used their phones to find a suitable movie theater, so they could head over to watch a movie after eating.
Song Xiaodong’s phone started ringing; it was Miao Qingqing calling. Miao Xuanxuan peeked over and said with a smile, "Is this a spot check?"
Song Xiaodong smiled and answered the call.
Miao Qingqing casually chatted with Song Xiaodong for a few minutes before she asked, "What are you and Xuanxuan up to right now?"
Song Xiaodong replied, "We’re out grabbing some food."
Miao Qingqing then asked, "Aren’t you guys with your classmates?"
"No, one of our classmates ran into a bit of trouble, and Xuanxuan and I lent a hand," Song Xiaodong briefly explained the situation.
"You should help out. Are you guys up to anything else tonight?" Miao Qingqing continued to inquire.
Song Xiaodong sighed inwardly, knowing that Miao Qingqing was probing, now aware that the person from two years ago was Miao Xuanxuan, she found herself in a state of confusion.
With a gentle tone, Song Xiaodong said, "We’re just going to casually stroll around for a bit and then head back to the hotel. Honey, are you unable to sleep without me at home?"
Miao Qingqing immediately responded, "No, not at all."
Song Xiaodong chuckled softly, saying, "I’m starting to miss you. When I get back, let’s make plans to go to a movie together."
