Chapter 89: You’re Just Playing with Kids
Song Xiaodong had entered the room on the western side, where, aside from Li Sijie, there was another man holding a dagger to Li Sijie’s neck.
Li Sijie was tied to a chair, her mouth sealed with duct tape, and strapped to her body was a package that appeared to contain explosives.
Upon seeing Song Xiaodong enter, Li Sijie immediately started shaking her head energetically, trying to speak, but could only produce muffled sounds; her eyes expressed immense discomfort and guilt.
Song Xiaodong addressed the man in the room, "You go out first, I want to speak with her for a moment."
The man stood there, unmoved, and then Sun Dongming’s voice emerged, saying, "Just talk like that."
Song Xiaodong turned to look at Sun Dongming, "How can I talk to her with you all here?"
"Then that’s too bad, just figure it out yourself," Sun Dongming shrugged nonchalantly, appearing very cocky.
Song Xiaodong snorted and approached Li Sijie. The man behind Li Sijie immediately became tense, pressing the dagger tighter against her neck.
At that moment, Sun Dongming spoke again, "I warn you, you better not mess around, or I’ll blow up the bomb and we’ll all die together. I have nothing left anyway, so taking you with me wouldn’t be a loss."
Song Xiaodong nodded, "I don’t want to die yet." He then slowly walked up to Li Sijie, and knelt down, placing his hands on her legs.
"Sijie, you’ve suffered," Song Xiaodong said, looking into Li Sijie’s eyes, his gaze filled with tenderness.
Li Sijie looked at Song Xiaodong, tears streaming down her face. They had only known each other for a few days, and yet Song Xiaodong had braved such great risks to come here. It would be bearable if only she died, but it would be utterly unfair to involve Song Xiaodong.
