His body was crushed beneath a giant foot.

Death came quickly.
And thus, the waiting ended just as quickly.
"Rise before me with that arrogant body of yours. I’ll kill you again and again, until you’re terrified! You worthless, lowly creature!"
All eyes turned to the 'spare bodies' riding on the back of the elephant legion.
Up until now, one of those riders would have suddenly convulsed, fallen limp, and then their nerves and muscles would have burst, signaling their return.
