I couldn’t help but make a mental note of how they managed their base.
"Have you converted all the mansions like this?" I asked Jiang Siwan, who walked a few steps ahead of me, her wide hips swinging with an alluring curve.
She glanced back and slowed down before walking at my side. "Most of the mansions, but the main area where we sleep and rest, are unchanged." Her voice sounded calm and mature.
The change in her atmosphere was something I could appreciate; in some rooms, I saw doctors and lab technicians working.
"Are they looking for a cure?"
"..." Her head turned to the room, then back to the front as we walked more slowly. "Not quite, first we decided to prioritise things like antibiotics, paracetamol and other useful medicines before the power and supplies run out."
The idea behind what she said made me feel ashamed. I could just buy them from a System... this base was trying to build from the ground up, some were working on small crops and planting seeds using strange chemicals.

Jiang Siwan’s steps halted for a moment, her heels tapping as she took a deep breath. "R-Really? Thank you. It’s the first time someone has acknowledged my ideas."
She spoke with a slightly higher-pitched voice, with a sense of elation. "I guess my daughter has a good eye for men." Siwan looked back at me with a faint smile.
