"Did you call Jiamian?"
Father Jiang paced back and forth, visibly restless, while watching his wife put down the phone again. His brows furrowed deeper and deeper.
The company had originally been founded by both Jiang’s father and mother, with the two of them serving as general manager and vice president. It was, in essence, a family-run business. Even though it had expanded significantly over the years, the couple still held key positions within the company.
That was also why their relationship had remained so stable for many years.
"Yes. Why isn’t the child answering his phone?"
Mother Jiang was anxious as well.
She hadn’t even known where Jiang Jiamian went after being discharged from the hospital. She went to pick him up, only to find no one there.
Thankfully, before her worry could grow out of control, Jiamian called on his own and said he was going out to work.
When Mother Jiang thought about the troubles her son had recently faced, especially how that Tang Tang not only pushed him down but then followed Fu Xiaoyuan to the hospital just to provoke him while he was still lying in bed, she grew furious all over again.
She felt her son really needed to go out and relax, to get away from that couple for a while. Maybe then he’d feel better. Once he let it go, the worst that could happen would be the Jiang family suffering a brief setback, but they’d just cancel the engagement, that’s all.
So she hadn’t tried to contact him.
