Chapter 188 - 185: I Caught a Cold Too
August was the end of summer, sweltering and oppressively hot.
Since their trip to Chou Mountain, Sun Wen had been quiet without much activity, Yu Le visited occasionally for advice, Jiang Lingling had calmed down a lot, her occasional matters seeming quite normal, and Qin Guanglin was happy to leisurely get on with his work.
He had managed to finish the comic he was responsible for, handing it over to Chen Rui to go live, but so far, it had been lackluster—neither hot nor cold, neither good nor bad.
Another painter joined the studio—a second-tier talent but with plenty of experience after years in the industry, which was a good thing. However, this led to a downside—Chen Rui had expanded with two more series projects, vastly increasing the workload.
Initially, there wasn’t much work, so adding more wasn’t an issue, the main concern being that if one day Sun Wen left, it would be exactly when the studio was most vulnerable, like a major artery bursting open, and no one would be able to save it.
The office life was tough... Qin Guanglin sighed, packed up his things, said goodbye to his colleagues, and left for home with his bag.
Arriving at He Fang’s place, he was greeted by the delicious smell of food as soon as he opened the door. He threw his bag onto the sofa and slipped into the kitchen, wrapping his arms around He Fang’s waist and buried his face in her neck, taking a deep breath.
"Smells good."
"Is it the chicken wings or me that smells good?"
"Both. But you smell even better."
He Fang giggled, her neck tickled, she couldn’t help leaning her head to rub it, "Stop joking around and wash your hands. This is the last dish; it’ll be ready soon."
