Unaware that he had become the talk of the town, Qin Guanglin had started searching on his phone for the remedies He Fang had mentioned while still on the bus, looking intensely into it.

"Remember to tell me earlier if you’re coming home late next time." Qin’s mom began her usual nagging as he arrived, "I had already started making dinner when you said you wouldn’t be home to eat because of overtime work. There’s so much left; you’ll have to eat it yourself tomorrow.
How could you be working overtime on your first day? Is that even okay? You’re throttling back so much that you won’t even have time for a girlfriend."

"What?" Qin’s Mom saw his sneaky, hesitant demeanor and felt sure he was up to no good.
Qin Guanglin was a bit sheepish but remembering He Fang’s pain-stricken, pale face from the other day, he took a deep breath and stepped out, clearing his throat, "Um, there’s something I want to ask you about."
