Chapter 2 Guangxia Mountain
A grand avenue, fifty paces wide, with trees three zhang tall, solidly built on the outside, hidden by golden mallets, flanked by green pines. From north to south, it follows a mountain stream, winding along the mountains, like an Azure Dragon on a painting, dividing the lush mountain forests to both sides.
Suddenly, the crisp sound of horse hooves echoed out of the mist.
In an instant, a carriage and a horse, taking advantage of this stone-paved Chidao, swiftly rode against the wind and rain, traversing mountains and ridges, coming from the north.
The carriage crossed numerous mountain ridges, exited the mountain path, and just as they emerged, the wind suddenly arose.
Lo and behold, the entire mountain enveloped in light mist was brushed by the clear breeze, the clouds rolled and unfolded, revealing a vast expanse of red maples in Shanyang.
After a whole night of drizzle, the dew on the maple leaves had not yet dried. When illuminated by the early morning rays, it was as if the entire mountain was sprinkled with gold foil. It reflected with the stream beside the Chidao, making the whole mountain and sky appear golden red, as if on fire.
Upon seeing this breathtaking scenery, the knight in a light robe on a white horse could not help but pull the reins, halting the horse.
He raised the hat covering his head, revealing a young gentleman with an elegant bearing and commanding presence. His eyes were as dazzling as meteors, his lips like vermillion cinnabar, his posture regal and majestic, exuding a jade-like essence and golden form. Gazing at the mountain view, he softly praised,
"The mountains stand far, the heavens high, vaporous waters cold. Blue waves mirror the indigo pool, maple leaves red. The haze like woven rain, the landscape a painting..."
The carriage behind also paused briefly, the driver lifted her raincoat, revealing a young girl in her prime, features like a painting, lips like cherry petals, an almond-shaped face with peach-like cheeks, possessing three parts of Concubine Li's beauty, her glance radiant, her smile city-toppling. Though still young, her beauty hadn't fully blossomed yet, but she was a budding beauty indeed.
"Young Master, rest assured; after crossing Juelong Ridge, we will enter Kun Country's territory. Once we pass through this maple forest, we will arrive at Guangxia Mountain's Yanzi Peak, Sword Immortal's Daoist field!
