After pretending to stumble helplessly under the effects of her poison, Ethan had secretly dragged her consciousness into a maze of layered illusions and interconnected false realities that he had built for her.
Everything she had experienced afterward, including the process of binding his helpless form with her vines, then dragging him to the bed, and then mocking him, had merely been part of the illusion labyrinth Ethan had constructed inside her mind.
Meanwhile, in reality, her physical body had remained completely vulnerable before him the entire time.
Even though she didn’t understand the full intricacies of her defeat, the horrifying realization that this young man had made her body and soul completely defenceless just moments ago caused cold fear to explode within Elis’s heart.
But she still underestimated the degree to which she had been at Ethan’s mercy.
As if Ethan had truly wished it, he could have left her trapped endlessly inside that mental labyrinth until her body eventually died while her consciousness wandered eternally within the false dream world created by him.
But clearly, that was not Ethan’s intention.

His crimson gaze no longer contained anger alone.
Instead, there was now a terrifying coldness and merciless dominance within them that made Elis’s entire body tremble involuntarily.
