Chapter 30: The Weight of Survival

Having walked for some time, the group decided to rest in one of the ruined buildings that seemed the safest. Their time spent walking had accentuated the pain echoing throughout their bodies and had worsen their wounds to a degree.

The building they decided upon looked like an apartment complex of sorts. Most of the ruined buildings here did. Each one stretching far into the sky and wide enough to house multiple rooms and corridors, which Min-ho and everyone else could see through the gaps in the building where walls once stood, showcasing its skeletal structure with layers and layers of floors.

Despite their antiquated outlook, whatever civilization had built these architectures must have been ahead of their time.

Of course Min-ho didn’t have the time or energy to admire any of this. What he was looking for was how sound the building was.

The last thing he needed now was tons of stone and wood crashing down on him while he rested.

Fortunately, one look at the building was telling enough that its foundation was still intact.

After deciding upon this location, Dok-su and Ji-su were the first to enter. The latter checking the building for any dangers whatsoever.

Not long after, they returned with good news. Jang-book was the first to head inside between him and Min-ho.

He was likewise carrying in his hands Im-hee, who had given in to her exhaustion a few minutes prior.

Almost after the rain had subsided.

Not that she didn’t deserve the rest. With how much pain she had put herself through to heal others, it was a surprise she didn’t pass out sooner.
