«What... what kind of dream is this?» Chantal murmurs faintly, collapsed in a pool of blood.
She’s dazed, her vision blurred from the brutal hit to her head.
Through her half-closed eyes, she barely sees the purple stormcloud fading.
Inside it, two bolts of lightning collide again and again—Raelos and Hakuto, moving so fast they appear as streaks of violet light flashing in the sky.
«I can’t believe that’s really Hakuto... If he actually beats that guy, I’ll look like a complete joke... I’m Chantal Carreaux! One day I’ll be the strongest Monster Reaper in the world. There’s no way I can just lie here while he takes all the credit!»
With effort, Chantal stands back up.
She tries to focus her eyes, but quickly realizes there’s little she can do.
Hakuto and Raelos are fighting nearly a hundred meters above her.
Even with all her training in Blood Word Burst accuracy, the distance is simply too much—especially with how fast they’re moving.
«Ugh... this sucks...» she mutters, arms falling limply at her sides.
«D-Damn brat... take this!»
Raelos throws yet another lightning punch at Hakuto, hitting him square in the face. Hakuto retaliates with an identical strike, and the two are blasted apart.
