Initially, Qin Chu did not feel too emotionally invested in this world. However, when he saved a young man from the clutches of demons for the first time and the boy thanked him amidst his terror, Qin Chu experienced a different kind of pleasure.
Turns out, helping others was such a beautiful thing.
Together with the members of the Hero Team, they feasted on meat, guzzled down wine, draped arms over each other's shoulders in drunken camaraderie, and sneakily discussed which girl in the team was more enchanting—whether it was Catherine's fiery figure that was truly soul-stirring, Rose Vesper's innocence and holiness that was more tempting, or was it the Twin Thieves' flat chests that were somehow more heart-fluttering?
Qin Chu experienced what friendship was, what brotherhood meant. He could trust his companions with his life, believing they would shield him from all perils.
When he found a girl he admired, Qin Chu felt love for the first time. He was like a peacock, seizing every opportunity to show off and attract his lover's attention. He was also like a timid mouse, quaking in his boots, afraid of doing anything less than perfect, for fear of diminishing himself in Rose Vesper's eyes.
It was his first encounter with anxiety.
