Chapter 29: Seraph’s Invitation
Rain splattered the high glass windows of the tower, blurring Arkvale’s skyline into a mess of lights and shadows. Charles stood alone at the top of the sync tower, the place where it all nearly ended. His reflection in the dark glass no longer looked entirely human.
The system had quieted for now. Omega’s presence was gone, absorbed into him like a memory wrapped in smoke.
But peace wasn’t peace.
