Chapter 89: Forming teams
Derek looked around. "Time might be short but you should all rest. If this goes wrong... we won’t get a second chance."
Then he turned to leave. "I’ll go and inform the others about the plan."
They all agreed.
They had work to do and this work isn’t so kind as to forgive mistakes.
The fortress city’s war hall was packed.
Over thirty gold-rank rogue awakeners from the Loose Leash sat or leaned against the stone benches, all staring at the projected map pinned to the front wall. Some were sharpening weapons, others were munching on fruits, but all were listening.
Derek stood at the center with Princess Doris and Sairi by his side.
"Here’s the situation," Derek said clearly. "Two tyrants. Both mutant types. We don’t know their powers. We don’t know their limits. But we do know they’re heading toward population zones. That gives us no time."
Sairi stepped forward. "You all came here for a reason. I won’t waste your time. We need teams. One group hits the avian-headed mutant in the forest. The other handles the elephant-type near the ruins."
Derek nodded. "Sairi and I will each lead a team. If anyone has a preference, speak now."
No one moved, nobody dared to because they could feel the epic aura coming from Sairi. While Derek might be gold rank the same as them but he was a famous figure and everyone knew about his strength.
