Don't mind me, I am just here to draw

Chapter 42

After some more discussion between Kokoro and the brown-haired girl—whose name was finally revealed to be Nakahara Sakura—they agreed to meet tomorrow at a popular maid café in the heart of Tokyo, a venue that seemed worlds apart from their current surroundings. The neon lights and quirky charm of the café would provide a fitting backdrop for their unlikely meeting.

It was an unusual turn of events, one Kokoro never imagined he’d get involved in, but somehow, Sakura’s infectious enthusiasm and the gyaru’s sheer momentum swept him up in it, leaving him feeling both intrigued and slightly off-balance. The prospect of tomorrow’s meeting stirred a mix of anticipation and curiosity within him, and he couldn’t help but wonder what the day would bring. As he parted ways with Sakura, the promise of their meeting lingered in his mind, a subtle thread weaving itself into the fabric of his daily routine.

Now seated on the afternoon train, Kokoro rested his cheek against the cool glass window, feeling the gentle vibration of the rails beneath him. The golden hue of the descending sun pierced through the glass, casting a soft, warm light over the interior of the train. The carriage glowed with a serene tranquility, the warm tones infusing the space with a sense of peacefulness, like a scene straight from a manga panel come to life. Outside, the city rolled by in a slow, golden blur—buildings, streets, and people melding together in a kaleidoscope of colors, all tinged with the soft glow of late afternoon. The rhythmic motion of the train and the gentle hum of its engines created a soothing melody, lulling Kokoro into a state of relaxed contemplation as the world outside slipped by, a fleeting yet picturesque backdrop to his thoughts.

Inside the carriage, voices bubbled up in little pockets, creating a lively atmosphere. A group of high school girls from a different school giggled among themselves, their brightly colored ribbons and school bags a testament to their youthful energy. One of them, with a mischievous glint in her eye, said, "I swear, if Maeda-senpai doesn’t notice me tomorrow, I’m gonna hex him with my grandma’s cursed socks!"

The other girls burst into laughter, their giggles echoing through the carriage. One of them, with a playful grin, replied,

"Better hex his whole soccer team while you’re at it! Imagine them all tripping over their own feet!"

Another chimed in, "And don’t forget to curse their coach, too. Make him think it’s all because of his terrible tactics!"

Their laughter mingled with the sound of the train, creating a joyful, carefree atmosphere that was infectious, drawing smiles from nearby passengers. Kokoro, lost in his own thoughts, couldn’t help but crack a smile at their antics, the lighthearted conversation a welcome respite from his own concerns.

On the other side, a trio of boys wearing blazers from another school were leaning against the pole, talking animatedly. "Bro, Saturday is our sacred gaming day. You can’t just bail because your mom said ’family time’!"

"Dude, she said we’re going to a cat café together. You know how hard it is to say no to cats?"

"You’re whipped... by your mom."
